To clarify things about the Closed Colonic Unit, it is the best and safest colonic system. When making an appointment you would expect to come into the facility, fill out your form and have a great session for 45 minutes to an hour, feeling wonderful when you leave.
We use the Hydro San Plus Colonic Unit which is FDA approved and a level II Medical Device. Everything is disposable, including your sheets, gown and foot covers. The Closed Colonic System is the best colonic you can get. The Closed Colonic Unit is a Gravity Closed-Controlled High Colonic System with a built-in triple filtration system and an automatic temperature shut off and ultra violet light. There are no odors, all the colon waste goes through the disposable tubing and out through the sewer system. The Closed Colonic Unit is not just a gravity unit - it is a Closed and Safe system, not the same as an open unit where a much longer tube is inserted into the buttock area and the water is turned on and you are left alone with no one to explain anything to you. It is imperative you are safe and your colonic therapist is running your colonic unit while you are relaxing and listening to music.
The speculum (the instrument that is inserted into the anus, and allows the water to flow in and out) is gently inserted 2-3 inches into the colon. It comfortably holds the anus open during the session, thereby removing the need for the recipient to push the waste out. The water line connects to the incoming water line on the equipment, and the waste line attaches to an illuminated glass viewing tube that allows for observation of what is eliminated. The waste goes out the speculum into the disposable waste line, and then empties directly into the sewer system after passing through the view tube. The waste is "closed" to the air, hence the term "closed-system".
The client remains on the treatment table throughout the procedure. Our professional therapist administers the colon hydrotherapy session, and is present during the entire session. The sessions consist of a series of inflows and outflows that can be accompanied by abdominal massage. The whole procedure is absolutely mess and odor free. Many people prefer the closed-system.
Before your first session we require our clients to fill out the provided form. Then you empty your bladder in the bathroom, get onto the table, and then the colonic therapist comes into the room. The therapist will open a plastic bag with your disposable pieces in it (your speculum, waste tube and water tube) and then the session begins. The colonic therapist will be explaining everything to you while you are having your procedure. There is no pain involved, as some may be thinking. As you relax, the therapist runs your colon health session. It includes massaging your stomach, checking where the water is, and making sure the water gets around your whole large intestine. Gentle massage assists loosening up of the waste matter and eases the process of elimination. Our colonic therapist will inform you at all times if the water is in the descending, ascending, or transverse colon and will let you know how you are doing. It is a gentle procedure and we ensure that you will be happy to have experienced a great cleanse.
After the session is over, the colonic therapist will tell you how you did and will recommend a program for you. If your colon is sluggish, you might want to incorporate a good nutritional program to soften waste, a good diet, and exercise program. The colon therapist might recommend a few colonics sessions along with what she thinks will help you after a good synopsis of your first colon session to clean up your colon, getting it to work properly for a Healthier You.
This is what a healthy colon should look like. Unfortunatey, most people don't have that look anything like this. The best way to insure that you will live long, healthy life is to keep your colon CLEAN.
In a normal, healthy colon, there is plenty of room for fecal matter to move through. Notice that there is no impacted fecal matter lining the walls of the colon. The digested food will be able to move quickly through the colon.
In a clogged, constipaded colon, there may be a narrow, tiny opening in the center of the colon. Digested food will have a very hard time going through. In many cases, the food and mucus can become impacted and stay in the colon for months and even years.
Diverticulitis develops when feces become trapped in pouches (diverticula) that have formed along the wall of the large intestine. This allows bacteria to grow and cause an infection or inflammation and pressure that may lead to a small perforation or tear in the wall of the intestine. Peritonitis, an infection of the lining of the abdominal wall, may develop if infection spills into the abdominal (peritoneal) cavity. It is generally accepted that the root of the problem is modern diet. A diet low on fiber allows for slower passage of stool trough the colon. A high fiber diet creates what is know as "roughage" and moves the waste matter through the colon faster and more efficiently.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is an abnormal contraction of your colon muscles which can cause cramping, abdominal pain, bloating gas, diarrhea and constipation. Normal digestive tract has a construction rhythm that continuously moves the matter. In IBS matter can move very quickly producing such effects as bloating, gas, and diarrhea, or slowly and cause constipation and cramping.
Constipation is most commonly caused by insufficient fiber in the diet or an interruption of the regular diet. Chronic constipation may be due to a poor diet, dehydration, certain prescription medications (such as antidepressants and narcotics), stress, or the pressure of other activities that force you to ignore the urge to empty the bowel.
